The Next Step Forward

Well after saying I wanted to teach sewing, I have finally booked a venue and    a date to run a sewing workshop locally.
So excited and nervous at the same time. The big day is 29th March, between 10-2pm.
I shall be teaching the basics of the sewing machine and making an envelope cushion. Now all I need to do is make sure that I do the worksheets and sort out enough remnants to let them choose what they want to make.

I also managed to secure an order for 12 aprons, from recycled denim for a local tea room.
So I now need to deliver as soon as I can.
As well as trying to do as much stash busting as I can! The house is bursting at the seams!

Vintage Garms

take a look at Vintage Garms on Etsy. That's where my work is now being shown/sold.

Personalised Gifts

yesterday was taken up with alterations, taking in a winter coat, and then making a new skirt out of one that the customer had. Changing the waistline, and moving the zip, etc
But then I got to play.
A simple name changing a basic baby item.

Ring Pillow

The experimenting done, a Pluto, a rose and then a butterfly.
Once I had a handle on the machine it was time to create. I made this ring pillow for my friend Marie who is getting married in April.
The Butterfly has been made on a separate piece of fabric, cut out and then stitched in the centre to give a 3d effect .
The names were stitched onto the ribbon, then hand stitched onto the pillow.
